Dogs at Weddings

If you have a dog and are debating whether or not you should include him or her in your wedding — the answer is YES! But, please, do not dress them in cheesy tuxedos and frilly dresses. After a quick Pinterest search I found a few cute pups ready to walk down the aisle. Enjoy!

Boho Chic

I am currently crushing on the flower crown trend.  I’ve noticed the headgear in a few magazines, and love the whimsical look it adds to a simple dress…especially a wedding dress. You can find a ton of pictures on Pinterest and can score an inexpensive floral headband on Etsy.  If you’re looking to add a tidbit of vintage glam to your big day, check out the ideas below.

Fashion Friday: California Chrome

Today’s post is dedicated to California Chrome, the product of a $10,000 breeding investment, Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner and latest contender for the Triple Crown. I don’t usually follow horse racing too closely, but California Chrome has a great story, and he has been really exciting to watch. Plus, I have a soft spot for horses.

Since California Chrome’s colors are purple and green, today I am posting my favorite purple and green combos to commemorate the American Thoroughbred on his way to make history. Good luck!!

Black, White and Fabulous

When I was planning my bridal shower a few years ago I put together a Coco Chanel inspiration board to help with the planning process (you can view the board here). In the end, the party had a LBD dress code, finger foods and sparkling French lemonade and party favors consisting of tiny lotions from Bath and Body Works. We wiped away crumbs with cocktail napkins printed with Chanel inspired quotes, sipped from paper straws, and  nibbled on petite desserts…I think.  It wasn’t a fancy event, but my theme was as prominent as it could be with a limited budget and the night was shared with friends and family. Since I just celebrated my second wedding anniversary, I decided to play around with another Chanel inspired inspiration board…Because a party should be two things — classy and fabulous — and I was bored while watching the Real Housewives of New York.

Enjoy! xoxo

Biggest Moments Contest Alert

WI

Hey, brides-to-be and lovers of all things bridal! Weddings Illustrated, a fabulous publication and my guilty pleasure, is hosting a contest to celebrate their fifth anniversary issue.  Their “Biggest Moments” contest is going on now, and all you have to do is head over to their website and vote for your favorite moment.  I’m a little upset that I didn’t participate sooner….I’m dying to stay at the new Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa and try out their amazing spa. But, I’m definitely happy to help promote a great contest. To cast your vote all you have to do is click here.

My favorite is Jessica and Hampton…hands down best facial expression in a photo.  Check it out for yourself.  And, don’t forget to vote!

Let the best moment win!  xoxo

Radiant Orchid Wedding Inspiration

In case you missed it, the Pantone Color of the Year is…Radiant Orchid, a gorgeous seductive purple that will make a great addition to any event.

Color-of-the-year

According to a press release issued by Pantone, the color of the year is “An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”

I completely agree.  The color alludes elegance and can be used alone or as a compliment to another color like yellow, grey, aqua, pink or gold to name a few.  I think you can be really creative with this color and create a great color palette that will make your event unique.  I did a quick search on Pinterest and compiled a few ideas.  Enjoy!
